Tuesday 20th June,

What a stunning day, sunshine and warm. Picking up in Craignure and a view of a white tailed eagle on the tree and one in the nest. Common gulls, common terns, eider and greylag geese. baby rabbits in the grass. Our next stop golden eagles in the sun, one on the nest with a brief view of the little head of the baby. The other adult flew and sat on a rock giving us a great view of its golden head. Otters next, two of them on the islands rolling around on the top. Common seals and black guillemot. As we drove there were hundreds of moon jellyfish floating around the shoreline. Distant eagles over the hills and red deer everywhere. Buzzards enjoying the lovely weather. Two more otters spotted so we stopped to watch and were treated to a very close view of one of them. he came out onto the rocks just below us. The other had disappeared and we found it fast asleep on seaweed turning blond in the sun. Heading back and a kestrel on a rock, a white tailed eagle high but it came across the hill in front of us. Next stop for a cuppa and 4 white tailed eagles over the mountains. Again high, riding the thermals. A brief male hen harrier on our way back for the ferry terminal. Another lovely day. not a bad job really 🙂 Jacqui
