Thursday February 14th, A valentine tour.
Love or spring is in the air, the birds are starting to sing and display. Eagles starting to clean up nests and the Hazel catkins are falling. Frog spawn about as well.
We had a good tour today despite the weather being much damper than forecast. Two white tailed sea eagles on the shore searching the seaweed. Lovely moody skies.
Next stop was very windy, in fact it was windy all day. Had to make sure the coffee didnt blow out of the container. We took a look at a golden Eagles nest (at great distance) No activity as yet. A White tailed eagle on the islands. We decided to give it a bit of time as the tide was coming in. Good decision . It flew right over us
We struggled for Otters in the morning but certainly made up for it over lunch. mum and cub entertained us for about an hour. So lovely to watch
A brief Golden eagle over the hills, the weather was dryer but still very windy. Lots of red deer and another White tailed Eagle.
Lots to see with Stone chat, Teal, Little grebe, common Gull, Red shank, rock pipit and lots of Great Northern divers.
