Thursday 15th September

Moody skies this morning with fantastic shafts of light dancing over the sound of Mull. With the threat of rain later in the day we headed off to look for Mulls wildlife. The days highlights, golden plover, ringed plover, dunlin. Two white tailed eagles on an island and common seals in our first couple of stops. Lots of red deer very close and two  female hen harrier with a buzzard distant. Very low cloud in the hills so we headed down to look for otters. One seen at a distance, hard to see with the rain now coming in. However at our next stop the otter was closer and fishing giving everyone a chance to see. A brief view of a great northern diver just behind the otter. Our last couple of stops and a cuppa, just on the shore was a single ringed plover busy feeding. p1100109
