North run, 11th June

The weather was almost perfect today, dull with a little wind. Fantastic first stop with a female hen harrier being mobbed by a young male. she saw him off very quickly. A distant male gave us a good long time to watch and then a female came over us. brilliant. Next stop was the White tailed eagle nest with both adults in attention to thie now well grown chick in the nest. Another young White tail came in and kept hassling the adults giving us a good display. They eventually got fed up and saw it off the premises. Other highlights of the morning included a red shank and green shank, common gull one with a chick. Our afternoon continued to be good for eagles with both White tailed and golden eagles flying. Red and fallow deer added to our day as well as common seals, cuckoo calling, meadow and rock pipit. skylark and many baby birds all over the place. A good day. Jacqui         red and fallow deer.
