Monday 15th April, A North loop.
Extremely windy today and cold. Undeterred we headed off to look for the wildlife. It was a little difficult today as everything was hiding from the weather.
A white tailed eagle at the first stop was a good start to our day. Common gull and seals, Red breasted merganser and Gooseander at our next stop.
on the way 2 dippers in the river, Golden eagle across the hillside was lovely, but the wind was getting very strong so we headed off for a hot drink in the shelter. Mmmmm not much shelter but we did watch a juvenile White tailed sea eagle fly.
An otter made an appearance running on a small island. it went into the sea making it very difficult to see it in the waves.
Lunch, still windy. A buzzard on a nest and widgeon in the bay. Still windy but a dry day.
A steady drive back and Calgary beach looked stunning in the sunlight. Now thats what I call turquoise. Bit cold for a paddle though.
Quiet for wildlife late afternoon but gorgeous scenery. Red deer and Raven at our last stop and another dipper and Goosander in the river.
Did I mention it was very windy???
