A GOOD WEEK.
24th APRIL.
The last seven days has seen a rush of firsts for the year, on Wednesday our first pair of redpoll on the feeders, Thursday a cuckoo calling and a chiffchaff singing (if you can call it singing) in a nearby bush. Saturday sand martins over Loch na Keal and Monday the first swallows at Ardnacross.
Today I looked out of the kitchen window and could see about 16 siskins feeding along with 4 redpoll and 2 goldfinch on the sunflower and niger feeders not 6 foot from the window. Further back on the nut feeders a splendid greater spotted woodpecker was helping himself to lunch, Dungallen really is a nice place to sit for a while.
