Winter wildlife tour 18th January
Well another really good day for wildlife. The weather was showery and quite a cold wind. We set off to take the Northern loop. On the way to the first stop we passed the pink footed goose now with a larger group of greylag geese. White tailed eagle and a otter at our first stop. Difficult to know which way to look, eagle – otter ?? good problem to have. Our day continued with golden eagle, lapwing and redshank. Lunch at Calgary bay with a lovely black throated diver. The afternoon brought us an other otter, White tailed eagle, kingfisher, red shank, greenshank, snipe and teal. Heading back and a coffee stop. white tailed eagle flew over then a great golden eagle. low and across the trees. Red deer close to the road on our route back. and a great stop in Aros bay. Goosander, godwit, redshank, common seal and curlew. Daylight dropping we headed home.
