Wednesdy 9th August. North circle

A pickup in Tobermory and Dervaig took us through some lovely countryside. Our first stop by the bay and curlew, common gulls and oystercatcher. Red deer on the hillside on the way down the glen, and common seals in the bay. Green shank and red breasted merganser. Greylag geese and curlew. A white tailed eagle across the bay and common seals on the islands. Eider ducks and red breasted merganser Gorgeous day with the mountains clearing for us. Lunch and golden eagles, giving a display looking stunning in the sunshine. A stop at the waterfalls and Golden eagle overhead. A short easy climb and fantastic views across Mull and the Islands beyond. Our afternoon cuppa and cake gave us a very unusual sight of a Golden eagle chick trying to fly. poor thing was struggling with the wind but did seem to improve with Practise. A lovely run back and a distant white tailed eagle. A good day. Jacqui
