Wednesday 29th June

Very enjoyable tour today. The day began with a Tobermory pickup then a run to Craignure to start the tour. The view coming over the hill out of Tobermory is gorgeous. with Morvan to our left and the open sweep of Aros bay in front. And and course there is the gorilla!!! Our first stop gave us a white tailed eagle flying into the tree in front of us and our day continues with male and female hen harrier, red deer and lots of buzzards. We continued  looking for golden eagles in the mountains, none showing for us. Dropping down to loch Scridain and common sandpiper, stone chat, mallard and herons everywhere. Our lunch stop and a lovely long look at an otter. it swam and fished moving closer. It then came out onto a small island and rolled around before gong to sleep. A steady drive towards loch na keal and a distant white tailed eagle being mobbed by buzzards and one of my favourite views looking to the Treshnish islands as we dropped down to sea level. The day was going far to quickly so we headed to look for golden eagles, no pressure Jacqui. They were waiting for us,  fantastic as we watched them fly to and from the nest. one settled on a rock giving us a great view. the sun shining on the golden head. Heading away and our last stop. Two white tailed eagles in a tree and two chicks in the nest. One of the adult birds flew. not a bad end to our day.
