Tuesday 23rd April
A very warm day today so we went looking for the birds first,
First stop and lots of common seals lolling around on the rocks. A good raft of razor bills and eider, Great northern divers everywhere today. Greater black backed gulls and two lesser blacked back which is nice to see.
Our White tailed eagle nest stop and my day was made as two little white heads popped up when there parent flewto a near branch. A Mistle thrush on the wire and a song thrush singing away on the top of a tree.
A slight detour for a coffee, stone chat, wheatear and a cuckoo in the tree
A golden eagle distant over the hill, a hen harrier flitting across the grass , beautiful.
Red deer stags on the hillside. at least three of them winding their way up the hill.
Other highlights were several Gannets diving, lots meadow pipits, a small flock of twite, pied wagtails and my other treat of the day a mountain/
