Tuesday 10th October

Heavy rain forecast for the afternoon so we went to look for eagles while it was fine. First stop and a white tailed eagle in a tree, it very obligingly flew for us and landed back in the tree. while we were looking at the seals it set off again and met with another. good interaction very close to us. Curlew, common gull and widgeon. goosander and lots of herons. brilliant. Male and female hen harrier next with rutting stags on the hills. Two white tailed eagles distant over the hills. A brief distant golden eagle over the hills and the weather was coming in quickly. Heading out of the hills and a greenshank at our comfort stop. Lunch and a very brief otter that never re appeared. Still gorgeous light as the weather threw heavy showers at us. Another white tailed eagle in a tree. The day was going quickly so we headed off on our home run. Two otters fishing off shore. They seemed to ignore each other and carried on looking for food. The rain was really coming down now but the otters didnt mind, anther was fishing off shore quite happily. Other highlights of the day; stone chats, curlew, canada geese, greylag geese and kestrel. Rain didnt stop play. Jacqui
