Winter warmer tours

Wrap up warm and join us for a day tour this winter,

Winter can be great for the wildlife. We have lots birds such as Great Northern diver, Slavonian grebe,Wigeon and Teal. We also have the favorites including Golden Eagle and White tailed Sea Eagle, otters and red deer.  The days are a little shorter now but it can mean we get a sunset at the end of the day. 

Mini bus tour,

Our spacious Ford Tourneo custom gives great viewing, and comfortable seating.

The tour costs £48.00 pp. In winter we are usually out from 9.00am till dusk. Included in the price is a homemade lunch of soup and sandwiches, hot drinks and home baking.

Unsuitable for under 7 years.

Private hire in our Volvo XC 90.

Enjoy your personal tour in the comfort of this lovely estate car. The day will be yours and we will work with your ideas to give you a very individual day.  Half days are also available.

Full day tour is £220.00 inclusive of homemade lunch, home baking and refreshments

Half day tour £120.00 inclusive of home baking and refreshments

Please note.

The weather can be changable at this time of year. As this is out of season we have the option to be flexible to pick a good day.

Pickup from the mainland ferries is restricted at this time of year as the ferries are on winter timetables. Please contact us to arrange a time. 

Tours are not available Saturdays. This is due to the changing over of our self catering cottages.

What we cover,

Our tours will take you through the spectacular changing scenery of Mull giving you a flavor of this magical island through its history, geology and wildlife. We point out places of interest and include; stories, history , geology and flora and fauna.

Taking into account the changing tides, weather and our guests requests we will stop regularly at places known to be good for the wildlife. We will look for eagles, red deer and otters as well as all the other wildlife giving you chance to enjoy the whole of Mulls natural world.

With no driving for you or providing lunch we aim to make your day relaxed and interesting.

Your refreshments and lunch will include home made biscuits, cakes, hot soup and sandwiches They are produced in our own kitchen. We use local produce wherever possible, even growing our own vegetables in the summer. 

Special diets,

We regret we cannot provide food for our guests with Gluten free, Celiac or Peanut allergies. Our kitchen is small and traces may be present. 

If you are without transport, by arrangement we can collect you from Tobermory main (Ledaig) car park, To the right of the Harbour building. Salen, at our house, Fishnish or Craignure.

Please note;  We cannot collect guests from the Ross of Mull, however we can arrange to meet you in Craignure.

Large groups / Private parties. Prices for a full day all inclusive from £220 (full day all inclusive) 

Why not celebrate your special day or half day with us. Enjoy the sights and wildlife of Mull. Your day could include a walk, spend longer in one area, head away from the main route. We are happy to be flexible with times and ideas. Please contact us for a chat. 

We can offer you a choice of vehicles,

Smaller parties up to 4 adults in our  lovely Volvo XC 90 estate.

Or up to 8 guests in our comfortable Tourneo custom minibus

Both vehicles have good quality binoculars and top range telescopes on board. 

These tours are perfect for groups up to 12 (both Vehicles) for a special occasion, family groups, specialist groups or a romantic day out.

What To Bring

For all tours we will provide you with:

  • Comfortable transport in our mini bus with seating for 8 guests, large windows and higher seats for good viewing.
  • A delicious homemade lunch on the full day tours, including a hearty soup, cakes and biscuits from our Dungallen kitchen, and hot drinks. On shorter trips we will provide refreshments, drinks and home baking. some Special dietary requests are catered for.
  • Good quality binoculars to borrow on the day if needed, and the use of our Kowa and Swarovski telescopes, both very high quality.
  • Use of books and charts of wildlife and flowers
  • For families, activity sheets for the young explorer.

Please bring: Water or juice, suitable footwear (strong shoes or boots, wellies for the children if they have them) and clothing for any weather as this is Scotland. Not forgetting the sun cream when the sun shines!

For guests starting the tour from Salen we have ample off road parking at our house Dungallen.

As times and pick-up points may change slightly, we ask that guests who have already booked confirm by e mail or phone a couple of days before to confirm arrangements.
