Thursday 14th July

Lazy start for me today as I collected guests from Dungallen and Fishnish ferry. We had a great first stop with a white tailed eagle looking good with the sun on her. Common seals, terns and eiders, common gulls and greylag geese. With sunshine all the way we continued our tour. Next stop was to look for hen harrier. what we got was a juvenile white tailed eagle being mobbed by two hen harriers and two buzzards. not a bad start to our day. Heading for the hills and a brief look at a golden eagle chick. Calling at Pennyghael stores my guests were delighted to meet the grey heron waiting for its food from Joy. Our day progressed with some beach combing and excellent spotting from my young guest of golden eagles. Stopping we watched a young eagle which has probably just left the nest. It flew to the top of a cliff and we put the telescope on it. The adult brought food to it and we could see it feeding. Tall tales of Mull and a little geology and history, lots of wildlife and sunshine, many photographs taken made it a good day. Jacqui
