Thursday 10th August

A different day, the weather was very dull and cold. hats gloves and extra layers on today. A real contrast from yesterday. Consequently the wildlife was harder to find. Although we had some excellent  views of White tailed eagles. the chick was dancing around on the nest. we were willing it to leave so we could share its maiden flight. but no! The parents came over us and one landed in a tree, brilliant to see the family and the birds flying. Quite a few little birds  such as stone chat, meadow pipit, loads of swallows and sand martins. wheatear are in small numbers now. siskins and redpoll are around. Red breasted merganser fishing the bays and common seals with there now quite big babies. Our last stop and more seals with two white tailed eagles on the islands. as we headed back  another pair of white tailed eagles flew across in front of us. Everyone enjoyed their day especially the eagles all 7 of them. Jacqui
