Sunday 17th June

A North run today and lots to see, A wet start to our day but the rain soon stopped. Our morning was good with common seals, common sandpiper, red breasted merganser and eider ducks with ducklings. Red deer in the hills and one hind had a calf with her quite young and spotty. lovely. A white tailed sea eagle flew over the woods giving us a great view. A brief stop at the bay and red shank, common gull and greylag geese. The white tailed eagle chicks are growing well and are flexing wings. we were treated to the adult bird coming in. A distant view of a male hen harrier over the hill. The afternoon was as good with highlights of an otter fishing, we watched as it swan a bit closer and came onto the rocks and rolled around. A white tailed eagle flew over. A great day out. Jacqui
