Sunday 11th September
Heading out hoping to beat the windy and wet weather that was expected in the late afternoon. we started our wildlife day with lounging seals, curlew, black tailed godwit and little grebe. Goosander, Eider ducks and redshank. Wheatear and meadow pipit were lovely to see while we had coffee The wind gathered momentum, not stopping the otter sleeping on the island. we watched for a while and it slipped into the water to fish. A white tailed eagle flew in front of us and landed in a tree giving everyone a chance to see. As the weather closed in we headed for the hills to look for golden eagle. None to be seen as the winds gusted across the glen. Heading back and two female hen harrier, braving the wind to hunt the field. With buzzards enjoying the wind and red deer stags in the hills and hinds in the fields we had a good day.
