Monday 13th June

Our tour today started with Siskins on our feeders at home. with cooler weather lots more birds were out today. Lovely to see the oyster catchers busying themselves on the shoreline. Common sandpiper everywhere, standing on rocks showing off. Our day continued with golden eagles an the nest together tending their chick. with A white tailed eagle flying across from us. A lovely surprise for me while we were having coffee was seeing a friend from RSPB Leighton moss where I used to work. Our next stop gave us an otter feeding off shore then a slow drive along loch na keal enjoying the moody sky and another otter fast asleep on a rock. we watched for some time as he stretched and rolled around then slipped into the sea. lovely. Rain came in while we were in the mountains, we still ad a lovely view of an adult golden eagle sitting on a rock. Driving along we had a very close fly by from a female hen harrier then a male hen harrier at a distance sitting on the ground. Our day ended with a white tailed eagle in a tree and the other adult tending chicks in the nest.
