Monday 12th September

Well no cobwebs on us today. The wind was so strong this morning I had to turn the bus sideways to get out. The waterspouts on Loch na keal were spectacular. Undeterred we donned waterproofs and hats for our very short walk. Shame as the rain stopped as we got back to the minibus. The wind dropped in the afternoon with continuing rain, We still had a very good day. Highlights today,Dunlin, Little grebe, red shank, black tailed godwit, greenshank and my first widgeon of the season. White tailed eagles in a tree, a window in the weather gave us a good view. Two otters, one brilliantly spotted by Alan. Red deer and towards the end of our day hen harrier sitting on a rock in the rain. p1100057
