Getting ready for the new season
A brief update from Dungallen; I cant believe we are almost into February. We are working on our winter job list. It is getting a bit shorter. The Self catering cottage. We have listened to suggestions from our guests and added one or two small but useful changes. Mike has enlarged the gateway to give an easier entry to the carpark. he has also extended the car park a little to give a better turning area. There is now a blind on the kitchen door to give more privacy. Electric blankets now on all the beds, and new bedspreads in the family room. Particularly good if you are here in the winter months. The tours: We now have 8 pairs of very good quality binoculars, one for each of our guests if needed. An additional Swarovski telescope to go with our existing Kowa. Both top of the range. New mats for the minibus are on the way. Jobs to do, Spring clean and painting to do in the cottage, just to freshen it up. Mike is making a pond in the garden for wildlife. And we will be putting up nest boxes around the garden. Our sitting room is currently being renovated, it will be lovely when its finished. We have flooring in the hall and Kitchen at last. starting to look much better. Spring is on the way, Signs of spring around, The eagles are looking at nest sites and the snowdrops are just starting to open. Lambs tail catkins are starting to drop and the birds are trying to sing. a little rusty as yet. The nights are drawing out and we are getting spectacular sunsets and in between the rain, glorious starry nights. We are looking forward to sharing the new season with you.
