And boy is it warm, great for all the baby birds and the lambs. We have a lovely breeze keeping the wee Midge at bay.
The garden is looking lovely and the trees have finally come into leaf. Our nightly garden watch is through a window now, as the midgies come out about 10.30pm when the wind drops. We dont see any stars now as our daylight hours are from 3. 30am to 11.00pm. The extended twilight means very little dark. With three weeks to go untill the longest day. Lovely having the long days and at the moment lots of time to enjoy.
There are so many baby birds in the garden. Starlings ,sparrows, dunock, Blackbirds , thrushes, Goldfinch, Green finch and collared dove. We are still being entertained daily with their antics.
With the very long evenings Mike and I have taken a drive to watch for wildlife in an evening. We headed out to the North shore of Loch na Keal and the views were just stunning. Otters and Eagles about and cuckoo calling.
We have now started to ease out of the lockdown. Very slowly we can move around more and travel to meet friends. We are still being asked to stay local. Cal Mac ferries have just updated their information and its looking very restricted for some time to come. They are keeping their web page updated and are looking at using the smaller boat so customers can stay in their cars.
We still dont have any cases of Covid 19 on Mull. Its still unknown and Scotland is being very careful with the return to some sort of normal.
We hope to have the cottages welcoming our guests back towards the end of Summer. For your safety we are putting measures in place for the extra deep cleaning of the cottages. The tours are more of an issue if social distancing is in place. We are having many chats on how to run them safely and it may mean we offer Private tours untill we no longer need to keep a distance.
We will be guided by the Scottish Government and Visit scotland advice.
We are asked many times what are we doing with all the time. Well, Mike is gardening still. I am a sort helping! We are getting out and about wildlife watching . Although we havent been far at all there is so much around us.
Both Mike and I have been creating in our sheds. Well, mine is renamed the covern. I have been painting pictures and silk painting scarves, cushion covers and wall hangings. I am hoping to sell them at some point and have a couple of orders already.
Its been so lovely to recieve positive phone calls, cards and emails from so many of the people we have come to know through Enjoy Mull and indeed before in our other life. Thank you for keeping in touch.
Well onward into June and the next phase of this very different life. Meanwhile the Mull wildlife is waiting to welcome everyone back. Jacqui
