IMG_9145IMG_90995th July Today we had a day off, after all the hard work we’ve done getting things up and running it was nice to have some time together relaxing. The photo of the buzzard shows just how well they blend into their surroundings (apart from the feet) The  oil beetle who we met on a woodland track has an interesting life, they lay their eggs in the ground, when the larvae hatch they climb up to a flower head where they wait for a bee. When the bee arrives to feed the larvae climb on and hitches a lift back to the bees nest where it eats the eggs of the bee, matures and starts the whole cycle again, fascinating what you can find on a walk in the countryside.
