Day off today
Todays forecast was very wet and windy and we had a day off with friends. So we decided to go wildlife watching anyway. What a great day. the weather was much better than predicted. Highlights, an otter made an appearance at our first stop fishing in the bay. Green shank, bar tailed godwit, pheasant added to our enjoyment. Heading off we then found common seals, common gull, ringed plover, eider, curlew and gannets. the unusual sight of a dipper feeding in the sea. it flew from the river and into the waves. Coffee and rain, with a vengeance, the red deer didn`t seem to mind but we gave up and headed for the hills. The waterfalls were spectacular. The weather cleared and the golden eagles were sat on the hill. they then flew for us. lovely. Another two otters fishing separately. one headed off almost following us. it came onto shore and rolled about. brilliant. Otter number 4, close in and swimming, it came on shore briefly . The skies were clearing and the light was lovely.
