Setting off from Craignure our first stop of the day was a good one.White tailed eagle in a tree, at least 20 herons, godwit, curlew and lots of geese,Canada and Greylag.
We aimed for an eagle and mainly bird day today, as requested. It was a good start.
The weather was lovely, cool wind but where sheltered quite warm. Lots to see, including; red breasted merganser, goosander, golden eye, black headed gulls and common gulls. Red and green shank, Great northern divers, little grebe and slavonian grebe, turnstone and teal.
Hen harrier then off to the mountains to look for golden eagles.one distant was joined by another. A kestrel treated us to a hovering display. as we watched the kestrel a glance up and a golden eagle was right above us. Absolutely gorgeous in the sun.
Another white tailed eagle on our way home, with a lovely sunset. Jacqui
