A very wet start to our day, as forecast. picking up from the fishnish ferry, glenforsa hotel and Salen. all went smoothly but still the rain came down.
Our first stop and common seals in the bay, herons and oystercatcher, mute swans and black guillemot.
Moving on and our first sight of blue sky. As soon as we got out of the bus there was an otter moving o the shore. we watched it rolling around, cleaning its fur. it then went to sleep. by the time we had finished our coffee it was getting paler as it dried in the sun.
Two white tailed eagles on the shore, golden eagle over the hill. a very good start to our day.

Another eagle over the hill as we drove on, it disappeared before we could confirm which it was.
Lunch and the most fantastic sight of at least 100 stags , 30 of which were silhouetted on top of the hill. Three white tailed eagles over the hill.
Another otter on a small island, quick view as it went into the water.
Otter number 4 was in the big bay, a brief glimpse as it came onto shore and disappeared.
Dunlin and ringed plover on the shore.

Hoping for hen harrier we headed down from the hills for our afternoon cake and cuppa. white tailed eagle, possible hen harrier but too quick to be sure. seals on the rocks.
Our day is almost over but our next stop and 2 hen harrier. 1 Felea and one juvenile.
Dropping back at the ferry, porpoise, kittiwake, and fulmer. Another otter in the bay fishing.
Fantastic end to a lovey day.
