A beautiful day as we set off to pick up from the Oban ferry. Lots to see with some great highlights.
First stop gave us 2 white tailed eagles in the tree near their nest. Common gull, Turnstone and dunlin on the shore. Curlew and oyster catchers feeding.
Off to have a hot drink and look for otters. A slight detour to the fish farm. An unusual sight for us of a carrion crow as we usually see hooded crows. lots of dunlin, goldeneye and lots of turnstone creeping around the rocks. Our cuppa stop and 2 white tailed eagles flying over us to land on the Islands.
Next stop we went closer to see the eagles and an otter came on shore to eat. then carried on feeding.
Another otter as we drove along, Goosander males looking very smart in their breeding plumage.
Razorbill and Red breasted merganser and another otter on route to our lunch stop. Still sun shining and quite warm out of the wind. Time as always going very quickly so we headed on. In the distance two otters. One asleep on a rock and the other swimming round it. the sleeping one woke and saw off the other. Maybe an unwanted admirer.
Hen harrier, male and female, Golden eagles and Red deer. Kestrel, stone chat, Little grebe and slavonian grebe added to our fruitful day. Jacqui and Mike
