A very quiet start to our day. As rain was forecast in the afternoon we went for our walk early. lovely views over the firth of Lorn. eider duck, distant eagle and a brief hen harrier.
We headed for the hills to look for eagles. nothing at our first stop but lovely red deer.
Still quiet at our second stop. we were wondering what was happening as nothing was flying.
Still nothing flying and as yet no rain. we stopped for a comfort break and a go;den eagle spotted over the hills, then another. Greenshank and redshank in the bay. at last our luck was turning.
Distant white tailed eagle, stone chat and wheatear as well as lots of red deer.
Afternoon and some sun! no rain at all. then everything came out. White tailed and golden eagles over the hills. Two more white tailed eagles on the hill top sitting. Otter asleep then woken by the tide and a lovely stag behind us on the skyline. our last stop and two more white tailed eagles on the shore they were disturbed by the rising tide. flying over us giving a grand finale.
A strange day for wildlife but turned out to be very good. Jacqui
