Otters please and eagles. Was the ask for the day.
First stop and a white tailed eagle in the tree. Red deer on the hill and common seals on the rocks. Red breasted merganser, common gull, curlew and canada geese. a good start to the day.
Working with the tide and weather forecast we headed off to look for hen harrier. Some red deer in the field and a passing buzzard and a distant white tailed eagle.
Cuppa stop,more common seals, a female hen harrier and a whole host of young starlings on the wires like musical notes.
Into the hills, gorgeous light dancing on the hillside. Ravens, possible distant eagle.
Lunch and looking for otters, non seen. little grebe and curlew.
Lovely drive round the coast. white tailed eagle in the tree then the juvenile came in and knocked mum of its perch.
On the way back now,tide coming in and two otters spotted at distance. a quick look through the scope in case they moved away then we headed closer to the spit of land they were on.
An eagle eyed guest spotted them , we spent an hour or so watching them. mum and cub. fishing, and coming on shore to eat. they both came in quite close giving us fantastic views. a istant golden eagle on the hill top finished a very good day. Jacqui
