Boot and Bus

The weather behaved today, showers around but missed us.The tour today was the boot and bus one which includes a short walk.

On the way to Croggan we checked out places I regularly see wildlife. We started well with a hen harrier, common seals and red deer,.

Heading through the woodlands was so lovely with the fresh green of the trees and the sunshine filtering through. As the Loch opened up the swallows were all around and several snipe flying near us.

An otter spotted as we drove along so we stopped and watched for some time as it busied itself fishing in the shallow water.

Lots of greylag geese and goslings all along the loch shore.

Lunch and then our walk through the woodland. lots of little birds, chaffinch, great tit, wren. as the view opened up we saw a golden eagle. I have to say the spotting from my guests was fantastic. the dot in the sky came closer so we saw the eagle in all its glory.

A white tailed eagle was waiting for us on the small island off shore as we got back to the bus.

we needed to head back as the day was going very quickly. an otter just in shore really close working its way in the seaweed.

Two buzzards being chased by gulls, it looked like they had taken a chick. We then had our cuppa stop before we got to the main road. White tailed eagles flying in front of us. they came across to give us a really good show.

Last stop to see if we could see any short eared owls. none today. A great day Jacqui
