Lots to see this week. The weather is very mixed at the moment which is great for seeing otters and eagles. A mix of tours with a North and middle areas covered.
We have had some really lovely sights of otters including a mum and two cubs.
The White tailed eagles are still around the nest sights with one pair sitting on a small hill with their 2 chicks.
Golden eagles over the hills. A bit harder to find at the moment and often high. when the cloud is low they are close. Flying across the hillside hunting for food.
Hen harrier have been around. In particular one juvenile seen regularly sitting on a fence post.
Red deer all over the hills with some stags already gathering their females together. Lots of Calves as well with their spotty backs.
Very few small birds now as they are going into moult and hiding. Common sandpiper have gone and we are starting to see the return of some of the waders. Green shank, Redshank and bar tailed Godwit around.
Our feeders have been very busy, lots of babies and the sparrowhawk coming through every day. And our spiky visitor is doing very well. at last putting weight on.
